Jewel Burst

Jewel Burst sends the standard gem board into space and asks you to bring the jewels back. Three or more identical stones make the connection; the connection clears them; the board refills from above.

What the setting buys is contrast. Bright cut stones on a dark starfield separate more sharply than the same pieces on a pale background, which makes the board quick to read even when it is crowded — the same reason the jewel skin became the genre’s default in the first place.

There is nothing layered on top: no currency, no daily loop, no lives to run down. What you get is the mechanic in its classic form, presented cleanly, with the difficulty coming from the arrangement of the board rather than from systems built around it.

A good choice when you want the genre without any of its modern accessories.

1. Swap two adjacent jewels to line up three or more identical stones.
2. Watch the refill for the follow-up clear it sets up.
3. Work the lower rows where two options look equal.
4. Keep collecting for as long as the board holds out.

On a dark board, scan by brightness rather than hue. The lighter stones read first at a glance, so finding them and working outward is faster than trying to take in the whole grid at once.
