Fruit Link Splash

Fruit Link is a connecting game, and it is unusually direct about what it wants: the longest chain you can build. Link matching fruit along a path, release, and the whole run bursts together.

Because the reward scales with length, the interesting decision is always whether to keep going. A chain of four is available almost immediately on most boards; a chain of nine takes ten seconds of tracing and pays disproportionately more. Boards are lost to impatience far more often than to a shortage of fruit.

It plays quickly, the fruit is drawn in strong flat colours, and the connecting motion suits a touchscreen better than a swap board does — a finger tracing a path is exactly the gesture this game was built around.

Controls

Press a fruit and drag across matching neighbours to link them.

How to Play

  1. Find a cluster of one fruit sitting in a connected run.
  2. Press and drag along the run to link as many as you can.
  3. Trace the whole route with your eye before releasing.
  4. Release to burst the chain and let the board refill.

Tips & Tricks

Look for the branch points. A chain that can fork usually has a longer route than the one you first traced, and the extra two or three fruit are where the scoring difference in this game actually lives.
