Easter Match 3

The goal in Easter Match 3 is not a score and not a collection — it is the state of the board itself. Every block starts dull, and a level is complete only once all of them have been turned bright. Swapping adjacent eggs into a horizontal or vertical row of three of the same colour is what does the turning.

That objective makes the corners the whole problem. The middle of the board gets brightened almost incidentally while you play, but the edges and corners see far fewer matches, and a level that feels nearly finished is usually four stubborn squares in the corners away from actually being finished.

So the sensible order is backwards from instinct: work the edges early, while you still have the whole board to manoeuvre with, and let the centre take care of itself.

1. Swap two adjacent Easter eggs to make a horizontal or vertical row of three of one colour.
2. Watch which blocks turn bright underneath the eggs you clear.
3. Attack the corners and edges early, while the board is still flexible.
4. Finish by brightening every block on the board.

Count the dull blocks left rather than looking at the board as a whole. Once you are down to a handful, every match that does not land on one of them is a wasted move — and at that stage the board rarely offers many.
