By the sixth instalment the series knows exactly what it is. The board is a clean gem-swap, the setting is the Mayan temple complex, and the real architecture is the schedule around it: hundreds of levels on the main path, Daily Missions underneath, Weekly Challenges above.

That layering is what keeps a long run from stalling. Three distinct things are always available — the level you are stuck on, a small daily task you can certainly finish, and a longer weekly goal — so a session never has to end on a failure. Gold and magical items flow from the second two into the first.

As with the fifth instalment, the feed gives both games the same description, and this page will not manufacture a comparison it cannot support. If you have played an earlier Blitz, you already know the board; the reason to open this one is the volume of it.

1. Trade two neighbouring gems to make a line of three or more.
2. Check the level goal before spending moves.
3. Clear the Daily Mission first when you sit down — it is the reliable part of the session.
4. Bank the Weekly Challenge rewards for the temple levels that resist.

When a level has beaten you twice, stop and spend a few minutes on the daily and weekly tasks instead. You come back with items rather than with the same board and the same empty inventory, which is the entire point of the layered schedule.
