Candy Riddles

Candy Riddles works through a small cast of sweet-shop objects and asks something slightly different of each. Ice creams get connected, cupcakes get popped, and the characters get matched three at a time — so the board is not one rule repeated but a handful of related ones sharing the same grid.

That variety is what keeps the level list moving. A run of levels asking for combos plays completely differently from a run built around the characters, and the game moves between them often enough that the difficulty never settles into one shape. Prizes are collected along the way, which gives a stalled level somewhere to send you rather than nowhere.

The presentation is bright and heavily animated, cookies and candies bouncing on every clear. If you like a board that reacts loudly to a good move, this one is generous about it.

1. Check what the level is asking for — combos, cupcakes or characters.
2. Swap two neighbouring sweets to line up three or more.
3. Chase the combos on levels that reward them; take the plain threes on levels that do not.
4. Collect the prizes as they come; they are the buffer for the harder boards.

On combo levels, resist the clear that is available immediately. Two ordinary matches made in the wrong order will often destroy the setup for a combo that was one move away, and combos are what the scoring is actually built around.
