Candy Star scores you on speed as much as on completion. Eliminating three or more identical candies is the whole action; the challenge the game sets is doing it across hundreds of levels in as little time as possible.

That framing changes what a good move is. On an ordinary board you look for the swap that scores most; here it is the one you find fastest, because seconds spent reading are seconds added to your run. Players who improve at this game are not spotting better matches, they are spotting adequate matches sooner.

The level count means there is no realistic end to reach, so the honest way to play is in stretches: pick up where you left off, push a few boards, and let the timer tell you whether today was a sharp day or a slow one.

Sweet art, quick clears, no systems to manage — the game gets out of the way of the one thing it is measuring.

1. Swap two adjacent candies to eliminate three or more of a kind.
2. Move on the first workable match rather than holding out for a longer one.
3. Keep the run going across levels; the clock is cumulative in spirit.
4. Come back in stretches — the level list does not end.

Practise scanning one region of the board rather than all of it. A match found in your quadrant in one second beats a bigger one found across the board in four, and on a speed-scored game that difference is the entire skill.
