Endless Bubbles

Endless Bubbles is the format stripped to its frame. There is no level map, no chapter structure, no companion and no shop. A ceiling of bubbles descends, you fire colours at it, and the run lasts until the field reaches the bottom.

That austerity is the reason to pick it. Most bubble games now wrap the shooting in progression systems, and those systems decide when you stop playing. Here the board decides, which makes it a genuinely different thing to sit down with: a score attempt rather than a chapter.

The trade is that there is nothing to look forward to. No new mechanic waits at level forty, because there is no level forty. If you want a shooter that unfolds, this is the wrong one; if you want the one you can open, play for four minutes, and close without losing your place, the absence of structure is exactly the feature.

Controls

Aim with the pointer and click or tap to launch.

How to Play

  1. Match the launcher's colour to a group on the field and fire.
  2. Three or more of one colour connected together drop away.
  3. Cut supporting bubbles to bring down everything hanging below them.
  4. Keep the field off the bottom line — that is the only losing condition.

Tips & Tricks

With no level goal to satisfy, the only currency is height. Take the shot that lowers the ceiling, not the one that scores best.
